I am back after a year when I initially watched your video. The CBD helps, however, I found Lugals iodine has gotten rid of the depression and dark thoughts that come before my period. I recommend looking into it.

I was diagnosed with PMDD, I have had it for almost all my life. Finally I was given a diagnoses by my wonderful Psychiatrist. Thank you for sharing your story. I know I am not alone in this. I have also increased my Spiritual Faith which has helped me with my depression. I am thankful for the medications available.

Thank you sharing this! Getting insight on your experience is helping a lot of people, including me. Before this, I had to look up "PMS and bipolar disorder" because I kept noticing the pattern and thought it was bipolar. It's wild (and scary af lol) how severe the symptoms can be. It sucks to go through this but just validating to finally put a name to it.

You inspire me in two ways: 1. PMDD as my own dx is new to me, despite being a perinatal nurse (before I had kids 22 years ago) and despite being married to an MD. Because I have lived alongside CPTSD, I assumed my experience was a reflection or struggle with that. Now that I’m nearly 50 and my symptoms continue to worsen, I can see that there is something else going on and I’ve been trying to address it without help. When you say, “Most of my moods are based on real events, things that have hurt me. In a normal day, they suck. On a PMDD day, it is the worst day ever.” Wow do I ever relate.(I can see myself doing this, but I’m not able to stop my thoughts nonetheless). And 2. As a fellow online creator, I want you to know that your authenticity & vulnerability call me up to do it too. I do already do it. But it reaffirms what I want to do on this earth: help women become blackbirds singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly. Thank you for being real. I would very much appreciate what you have since learned after this video about yourself, relating, and PMDD. (If you feel comfortable, because though we CAN be vulnerable, we don’t HAVE to be). ❤

Thanks for sharing... I find walks help, vitamins, lots of water and exercise. Changed my diet since I seem sensitive to some foods. But very difficult to sleep with PMDD. Will try CBD oil again!!

I have the exact same symptoms. I get enraged, I become so cross like I don’t care what other people would think. I just lash out from the slightest inconvenience. And then when my period starts I’m the real me again. I turn into the person that I identify with again. And it happens every single month. It’s hard and sad.

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm just learning about PMDD now and it is such a relief to put a name on the mess I was feeling for many years. As a Capricorn as well, it is sooo hard for me to lose control of my own emotions and feelings. It is teaching me a great deal to let go and be more flexible. I found out that evening primrose oil and ashwagandha helps me with the symptoms. Much love!

I can completely relate to your experience with PMDD and I understand how past traumas can mix in with PMDD and vice versa to make life so very difficult. You said you are an artist. That’s awesome. I’m a musician, and I sing like yourself. I too can’t get into doing my art (music, singing, writing) when I’m PMDD as well as when I’m in a Major Depressive episode which I’m experiencing now and have been for about 3 years. Anyway, I’m waiting for antidepressant med to work. PMDD is such an intense struggle where 12-13 days prior to menses feels like forever. I hope that you’re continuing to engage in the walking and hot water and singing and taking to your Mum. I hope you’ve found more things that help you. My heart goes out to you. Really does. You are so strong and brave. I can feel your pain while you made this video and it makes me so sad for you. I just found out this is what I had two months ago. I’ve had it for probably 8 years and didn’t know what it was, I felt bad about myself and couldn’t understand why I would act that way when I would have an episode and be so hard on myself. I have pretty much all of the same symptoms as you, so your video definitely hits close to home. Once I was diagnosed, and started doing more research on it, I couldn’t believe how alone I felt for so long. I felt like I must be over dramatic and out of my mind and wondered why life had to be so hard, and if there was anyone else that felt this way. Since being diagnosed, it has given me more courage to be able to face my cycles and just to try to keep learning about it and how to treat it naturally. I so appreciate your raw and vulnerability and honesty. I will be praying for you and thank you for your courage in putting this video out there. ♥️

I’m not sure when the symptoms started. I remember in middle school my period would keep me from school. I would beg my mom to get me from school because it hurt so bad. I’ve been on medications for depression and anxiety since 6th grade. For as long as I can remember I have cried very easily. Like, very easily. For as long as I can remember I get tired a lot, I get uncontrollable anger. I have loss of interest in things. My anxiety gets worse around my period. I get suicidal thoughts around my period. I dissociate a lot around my period. My period throws my life off a loop. During my period I cry a lot, my anxiety is a lot, I want to die, I even get manic? I won’t sleep well, I clench my jaw, I get racing thoughts, I get restless leg syndrome but my whole body I’m not sure what exactly it is. I start projects I don’t finish or I make impulsive decisions. I brought all of this up to my doctor because for as long as I can remember my period has impacted my life. All she did was put me on birth control pills. It just felt like she didn’t take it serious. I’ve been on birth control before and it’s never helped. I just know someone serious is going on. I just found out about PMDD today and I was shocked. I learned that bi polar could get misdiagnosed with someone who has PMDD. I got diagnosed with bi polar officially when I turned 18 but before that my dr told me that’s what I had. And it blew my mind because this just makes sense. Because when I do become manic it’s around or on my period. Learning about PMDD was an eye opener because I might not even have bi polar and I might actually be able to feel better now that I know about it and can bring it up to my dr. I feel shocked honestly. It just makes so much sense. It feels like I found an answer to something I’ve been struggling with for years.

Thank you for making this vid. This condition has been ruining my mental health for over a decade. I feel like I become a werewolf each month since I was 10 and I have blamed myself over and over again. I have only just self diagnosed and I am looking into medication and coping mechanisms. You are beautiful! ❤️ I understand so much more now.
